Work Design TALK Preview: Designing for Employee Engagement

Will you be in DC on Thursday, May 15? Join us for networking and a lively panel discussion at our spring Work Design TALK at RTKL. Tickets are available here. The topic of the AIA/CES approved event is “Designing for Employee Engagement,” and we are pleased to welcome an all-star panel of workplace experts who will address everything from maintaining employee morale both on site and remotely, to establishing a sense of place in a hoteling environment.

Meet the panelists

Jim Allegro, Principal-in-Charge, FOX Architects

Jim possesses nearly 30 years of experience and passion for office space design. During his career he has managed corporate interiors projects for law firms, nonprofits, consulting firms, technology companies, and the federal government. Jim and his partners founded FOX Architects in April of 2003. FOX is a nationally recognized firm specializing in architecture, interiors, and graphics for the commercial office industry and is focused on providing quality design and dedicated service on every project.

Stephanie Douglass, Director of Workplace Strategy, Teknion

Stephanie’s background is a combination of design, psychology, communication, and social science. At Teknion, she’s especially interested in how space impacts people and their work. Her focus is on research and development of subject expertise in workplace improvement, which includes understanding of how people work, the desired organizational culture, and how physical space, technology, behaviors, and processes combine to support or hinder those goals.

Pablo Quintana, Associate Principal, VOA

Pablo has more than 20 years of experience developing award-winning designs for major corporate and non-profit clients. Throughout his career, Pablo has developed state-of-the-art, alternative workspaces for clients including Google, IBM, Volkswagen, Choice Hotels, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, E*Trade Bank, Discovery Communications, Coca-Cola, Booz & Company, and Catholic Charities. Pablo actively participates in the development of the area’s design community.

Jodi Williams, Associate, RTKL

Jodi brings nearly 15 years of experience in workplace strategy, facility planning, and change management. She leads strategic planning efforts for public and private sector clients, and has been a featured speaker at industry events such as IFMA World Workplace, Greenbuild, and NeoCon East. In her spare time, Jodi enjoys playing pattycake with her daughter, long walks on the beach with her husband and dog, being judged by her cat, and expending excess energy on the soccer pitch.

Bob Fox, our publisher and the founder of FOX Architects, will moderate. The event will be held at RTKL’s office at 2101 L Street NW, Washington, DC 20037. Ample garage parking is available nearby, and the event is easily walkable from the Foggy Bottom Metro Station (Orange and Blue Lines; 3 blocks) and the Farragut North Metro Station (Red Line; 4 blocks).

Heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and soft drinks will be served. If the weather cooperates, we’ll network al fresco on RTKL’s spacious patio! We hope you’ll join us — tickets and other event details are available here.
