What’s new at HPFi? Introducing the Eve Harbor collection recently, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Just as designers are looking for products to help in implementing the new social distancing protocols, this seating line offers options that can work in many different settings.

In the post-pandemic workplace – where does the Eve Harbor collection fit in?

In open community spaces it is important to allow small groups to gather while managing appropriate healthy distances.

Does the product or service support agile and activity – based workplaces that are becoming so prevalent in new and refurbished facilities? If so, how?

Eve Harbor can define and promote healthy gathering spaces with a design-based “permanent” alternative to temporary shields.

Whether large or small – any space can be enhanced with a practical, safe, seating solution.

Can you tell a story or give an example of how this product or service will help our readers design and implement great workplace solutions?

Furniture placement can guide healthy behavior by creating safe “harbors” in many types of spaces from the workplace to educational and healthcare environments.

Jerry Samet, HPFi President, was an integral member of the design team for Eve Harbor. He weighed in on some of the driving factors behind the design of the Eve Harbor collection.

What was the design inspiration of this product?

Clouds and cocoons! We got the idea for the “D-shaped” privacy panels from billowy clouds. The concept for Eve Harbor was from cocoons which provide a private space to recharge and emerge with a fresh start.

Where do you think the installation of this product will be most effective?

The Eve Harbor collection is perfectly suited where casual seating to create a collaborative environment is desirable. We can see this product working well for example in corporate and educational campuses.

A year from now what would be the most exciting thing you could think of that would find out about how the product has been accepted, specified, and installed in projects?

We could see installations in any environment where consideration of social distancing and a sense of enclosure and privacy would be desirable.

Is Eve Harbor available for orders?

Yes, it is available, built to order in a lead time of only four to six weeks.

Your readers should know that we are able to adapt when standard sizes are not going to fit. We want to make our product work within everyone’s space. We offer multiple graded-in fabrics as well as ability to use COM fabrics.
