Yes, with 12 modular pieces to mix and match, KOZE is completely customizable and reconfigurable. From breakout areas and lobbies to waiting rooms and quiet spaces, this sleek line can be uniquely arranged for every space (and easily rearranged as needed).

Can you tell a story or give an example of how this product can be used in a project?
Today’s flexible workspace includes breakout areas for focused work, quick huddles, or even recharging. With 12 modular pieces, KOZE can be configured to make the most of the office space. Little nooks can be turned into useable meeting and working spaces. KOZE can also be used to create a great brainstorming/huddle area in the middle of an open-plan work area that has benching or cubicles to break up the space in a useful and efficient way.

Are there any other unique design features that would interest our readers?
Lightweight, but rigid frame design, high-resiliency foam in cushions, removable legs for ease of transport / custom looks, high-quality fabrics, limitless modular combinations.
Our design team paid a lot of attention to the details of the upholstery and finish options.
We were fortunate to have access to hundreds of fabrics. Based on texture, color, quality, and price, we narrowed it down to a weave that works best for the line – a “heathered” fabric that is both soft and resilient. The texture is a hybrid between typical residential and commercial weaves. This “resimercial” weave has become a favorite of our product designers and interior designers.
Rocco Calandruccio, Clear Design’s Director of Product Design gave us some additional background information on KOZE.
What was the inspiration for this design of this product?
Rocco: I drew most of my inspiration from mid-century modern pieces I’ve seen throughout my design career. The clean lines and narrow profiles of these pieces combined with a focus on comfort, always appealed to me. I merged that aesthetic with a modular concept, blending a mid-century modern look with commercial functionality that responds to a market need.
What innovations in use of materials or fabrication are utilized in the manufacture of this product ?
Rocco: Perhaps the greatest innovation, from a materials and fabrication standpoint, would be the frame design and assembly process. To achieve the look and comfort we wanted at a price point that met market expectations, a team of specialists worked through many rounds of samples to optimize the frame design and process used to create these chairs. We used the best materials and an optimized frame design that meet quality and design expectations while staying within the target price point.
Where do you think the installation of this product will be most effective?
Rocco: This product will see its greatest successes in the mixed-use spaces of today’s modern offices. There has been an outpouring of demand from our customers to provide soft seating solutions that allow employees to step away from their desks to collaborate with teammates, work privately in a comfortable chair, or simply have a change of scenery in their workdays. Ultimately, we feel KOZE will help create environments that fuel creativity for a modern workforce.
A year from now what would be the most exciting thing you could think of that would find out about how the product has been accepted, specified and installed in projects?
Rocco: The most exciting thing I can think of would be the simple satisfaction of knowing that we’re creating pieces that our customers want and need, which in turn creates customers who are passionate about our products. By giving our customers more options, we allow them to improve the lives of others and I would consider that a successful product.
