2024 Next Work Environment Office Design People’s Choice Finalist Krispy Krunchy Chicken by Hendrick supports all types of work styles while still maintaining brand and universal design at the new Atlanta Headquarters.

Project Overview:

Understanding the unique needs of Krispy Krunchy Chicken’s diverse workforce, Hendrick implemented a universal design approach to this corporate headquarters design. This meant creating a variety of spaces that cater to different working and interaction styles, from quiet areas for focused work to more dynamic communal spaces that encourage collaboration and social interaction. The office includes accessibility features ensuring that all employees can navigate and utilize the space effectively, reflecting a deep commitment to inclusivity.

The new office layout was designed to be multi-functional, accommodating various activities from formal meetings in the redesigned Southern hospitality-inspired conference room to casual interactions in gaming areas and informal workspaces. This flexibility supports a hybrid workforce, allowing spaces to be adapted as needed to suit both full-time and part-time staff, ensuring the office is utilized efficiently throughout the workday.

Project Planning

In addition to the space planning requirements to support a hybrid workforce, a primary goal of corporate leadership was to reinforce the brand’s culture and instill a sense of pride to both local and visiting employees and their vendors. The Hendrick team worked closely with designer Amy Kaye on the branded graphics throughout the space, creating moments of wow and a sense of fun and whimsy. While reinforcing the brand’s identity, bringing in this fun and lightness was also utilized to encourage employees back to the office.

Project Details

Hendrick’s redesign has transformed Krispy Krunchy Chicken’s headquarters into a beacon of forward-thinking design and corporate responsibility, enhancing the brand’s visibility and instilling pride among team members. The team infused the redesign with branded graphics that narrate Krispy Krunchy Chicken’s commitment to excellence in food production and its fun corporate brand identity.

The redesign introduced a rubber chicken “Wall of Fame” to highlight employee achievements, fostering a workplace culture that appreciates and recognizes individual efforts. This feature not only boosts morale but also aligns with the brand’s social responsibility goals by creating a supportive environment where employees feel valued and respected. The wall, along with large chicken environmental graphics bring a sense of joy and whimsy to the headquarters.
