2025 Categories

Workplace

With traditional offices now competing with home offices, coworking spaces, and other flexible work options, design an inspiring and innovative workplace that allows employees to work their own way. Create a concept or strategic office that supports hybrid work while encouraging employees to come together, connect and innovate in person.

Submission Requirement: In 500 words or less, include an overview, location, design plans & challenges and final outcomes. Supporting documents should include a floor plan.

Experiential

As the demand grows for engaging, inspiring spaces, this category challenges professionals to design environments where the experiences or amenities enhance the lives of daily visitors, while also enticing patrons into the building for optimal ROI.

Inside Your Office

Does your office or showroom act as the ultimate living lab of what’s possible while highlighting your knowledge of the workplace? Take us behind the curtain and tell us what sets it apart in terms of design, function and experience. Think an architectural firms’ office, a construction company’s new HQ or even a flagship furniture manufacturer or dealer showroom.

Submission Requirement: Office must have been completed within the past 24 months or be completely theoretical.

Adaptive Reuse

Your goal is to transform the space to meet modern demands for flexibility, sustainability, and employee well-being, while preserving its architectural integrity. How can you integrate cutting-edge amenities, create functional workspaces, and incorporate sustainable solutions, all within the constraints of the building’s original design?
Submission Requirement: Include quantitative benefits or if this is a theoretical idea, suggest potential quantitative outcomes.

Pick a Problem

Identify and solve a specific issue related to work and our relationship with the workplace. Whether it’s making commuting more enjoyable, designing new collaboration spaces, creating ways to seamlessly connect remote and in office employees, or designing innovative solutions – this is your chance to get creative!

Submission Requirement: state the problem that you are solving for in the opening sentence.

Furniture

Whether it’s in the office, at home, or any space in between, we’re calling for pioneering solutions that highlight intentionality and ingenuity. Submit your innovative designs, prototypes, and groundbreaking ideas that not only enhance physical comfort but are also stylish, eco-friendly or supportive of a healthier work lifestyle.
