Hana Kassem is a Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates with close to 30 years of experience as an architect leading the design of projects in the US and internationally. Her design philosophy lies in the idea that design is human-centric, experiential and should enhance well-being and fulfill social needs; creating enriching and equitable environments. Her work is centered on people’s experience and perception of the built environment in a variety of typologies including academic, research, cultural, hospitality, residential and commercial mixed-use projects - with current work in Brazil, USA, France, the Philippines and China. Some of the notable, awarded projects she has led include, the Red Hook Houses Resiliency and Recovery project for NYCHA, and the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center in NYC.
