Kim is a champion of discovery-driven design and prioritizing people in the spaces her teams create. Spanning 25 years in architecture and design, her portfolio speaks to her keen understanding of her clients’ needs, the human experience, and the relevance of setting and place. As managing principal, she draws on her background designing at the demanding visceral scale of interiors to lead interdisciplinary teams through the uncertainty and serendipity of collaboration and true consultant-client partnership. Her aim is to guide the design of the journey as much as the solution.
In 15 years at Perkins&Will, Kim has led successful projects at a range of scales in a variety of sectors and nurtured longstanding relationships with clients such as Newell Brands and Eversheds Sutherland. She approaches each project on its own terms, aligning skill sets to objectives rather than defaulting to formulaic procedures. Her skill in building processes ensures that complexity and challenge excite ingenuity and clarity in the design.
