    Description

The Allsteel Evo chair has been redesigned with the modern workplace and a sustainable future in mind. Drawing inspiration from 3D knitting technology found in the fashion and footwear sectors, the innovative zero-waste Quilted Knit Back offers a supportive and tactile experience, blending the comfort of upholstery with the breathability of mesh. The back’s pillow-like channels feature a loose, responsive yarn that flexes and shifts in real time with the user’s every movement, creating a dynamic feel that accommodates changes in posture and work style. This innovative approach results in a visually striking chair that doesn’t compromise on comfort or usability.

True to its “design for everyone” inspiration, Evo further offers a personalized experience thanks to a weight-activated mechanism that responds to users’ movement. The expanded customization options, including a palette of 40 new paint colors for the aluminum arms and bases, allow for seamless integration into any office aesthetic, from monotone and coordinated to bespoke and contrasting.

    Sustainability Statement

Evo’s design embodies a deep commitment to sustainability, beginning with its innovative 3D Technical Knit back. This component is produced through a zero-waste manufacturing process where the material is “fit to knit” to its exact size, eliminating cutting scrap and the need for adhesives. The knit itself is fashioned from 100% recycled content, including SEAQUAL® YARN, which is made from upcycled marine litter. Furthering its eco-conscious design, select Evo models are now available as carbon neutral. Allsteel achieves this by offsetting emissions through third-party verified forestation projects in the U.S. The chair’s back is also designed for easy disassembly, ensuring its components can be properly separated into recycling streams at the end of its life.
