How has this product evolved since it was originally introduced?
While this is a new introduction for DeskMakers, we are using a similar design to 2016 Best of NeoCon winner Hover, value-engineered to provide a lower-priced solution with similar benefits. It’s a simpler kit of parts, but still features the same clean lines and modern design people come to expect from DeskMakers.
Does Hover Lite support agile and activity-based workplaces that are becoming so prevalent in new and refurbished facilities?
Hover Lite allows end users to transition for sitting to standing with the push of a button, keeping them active throughout the day. Studies have shown that standing while working, even for just 30 minutes at a time (four hours a day or more) can have a major impact on your health and body, including greater concentration and productivity, as well as reduced pain, discomfort, and fatigue.

What was the inspiration for this design of this product?
We’re always looking to improve our offering to meet the needs of our customers. With how well-received and successful Hover has been (2016 Best of NeoCon winner), we looked to create a value-engineered version for customers with budget limitations.
What innovations in use of materials or fabrication are utilized in the manufacture of this product?
Using a simpler kit of parts, we were able to manufacturer a simplified version of the popular Hover collection. For those heading back to the office, our ReFit line of workplace-distancing solutions can be used in combination with Hover Lite.
Where do you think the installation of this product will be most effective?
Ideal for open-plan spaces, or anywhere someone needs a sit-to-stand desk solution. The collection is also suited to meet the needs in the Higher Education, Corporate and Government markets.
A year from now what would be the most exciting thing you could think of that would find out about how the product has been accepted, specified, and installed in projects?
We’re looking forward to seeing how the collection is received and how our customers use it to implement sit-to-stand workstations in their spaces. In turn, we’re able to customize our offering to meet any challenges that may come up during the design process.
